Batman fans know that “Gotham” has featured plenty of Easter eggs and nods to existing Batman lore, but Paul Reubens’ casting news has upped the ante.
During the show’s panel at New York Comic Con this weekend, Robin Lord Taylor, who plays Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, announced that Reubens would be joining “Gotham” as his character’s father.

“We don’t know a lot about [Oswald’s] father, ” said Taylor, according to Entertainment Weekly, which reported the news from the panel. “We just found out that I do have a father. And he will be showing up very soon, and he will be played by none other than Paul Reubens, a.k.a. Pee-wee Herman! He’s playing my dad!”
