Iran on Sunday successfully test-fired a long-range missile, state Defence Minister Hossein Dehqan said, magnifying the tensions between the Shiite and Sunni Muslim rivals led by Saudi Arabia.
The missile named “Emad” is designed and manufactured by Iranian experts.

Dehghan added it is “Iran’s first long-range missile that can be guided and controlled until hitting the target. Emad is also capable of scrutinizing the targets and destroying them completely, the minister said.
State-run news agency IRNA said the Defense Ministry’s strategy is to develop and complete the armed forces’ missile capability and strengthen the defense power.
