An Israeli woman, mother of five sons, was indicted Sunday on charges stemming from her alleged attempt to join the Islamic State.

According to the indictment, Iman Kanju, 44, of the Arab Galilee town of Shfar’am, traveled to Turkey with her father in August. Israel police said it had received information that she was intent on reaching Syria in order to join the Islamic State organization..
