Janet Leigh was the centerpiece of the iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. On an episode of Scream Queens, Curtis has revealed she’ll honor her mother in a similar way.
Jamie Lee bore a striking resemblance to her late mother with her short wet hair styled in the same manner and both sharing similar facial features.
Curtis has tried very hard across her career to not emulate her mother, but to be her own actress.
In talking about the scene she shot for the show with Variety, she said, “My entire life I have refused to step into the shower because it belongs to my mother. I have attempted to step out of the shadow of my parents for a long time.”
She may think now that there has been enough time and distance between the iconic movie and her own career though that a tribute wasn’t out of the question, especially for a show that is satirizing horror.
Check out the two-hour premiere of “Scream Queens” on September 22nd.
