Orthodox Jew Matthew Hiltzik Named To NYCEDC

Matthew Hiltzik

Matthew Hiltzik, a Modern Orthodox Jew and crisis communications professional, has been named to the board of directors of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, said Everything PR.

Hiltzik is the Founder and CEO of Hiltzik Strategies and is known for being a Hot Shot New Yorker in PR. His crisis clients have included Alec Baldwin, Justin Bieber, Glenn Beck & others. Hiltzik previously held roles as the President and CEO of Freud Communications and as Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Relations for Miramax Films.

Hiltzik is a Ramaz graduate, and he formerly served as the director of Jewish relations for Hillary Clinton. He is a board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, The Jewish Week, and vice chair of the UJA Media and Entertainment Division.

He was previously honoured by the New York Board of Rabbis, when Rabbi Potasnik noted “While making the film, “Paper Clips” which chronicles a middle school project in the small southeastern Tennessee town of Whitwell, that turned into a world renowned memorial to the victims of the Holocaust, Mr. Hiltzik maintained his traditional Jewish lifestyle; he donned tefillin everyday and never slacked off in his observance in a place where he was one of the very few Jews.”

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes economic growth across New York City’s five boroughs. It is the City’s official economic development corporation, charged with using the City’s assets to drive growth, create jobs, and improve quality of life.
