Starbucks CEO spearheads plan to hire 100, 000 unemployed young people

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is leading more than sixteen big companies in an effort to employ 100, 000 young people between 18-24. USA Today reports an estimated 5.5 million Americans ages 16 to 24 aren’t employed or in school.

Howard Schultz promises to hire 10, 000 unemployed young people by the end of 2018. Among the companies joined Starbucks are: Alaska Airlines, Microsoft,  Cintas,  CVS Health,  Hilton Worldwide,  HMSHost,  JCPenney,  JPMorgan Chase, Lyft, Macy’s, Microsoft, Porch.com,  Potbelly Sandwich Shop,  Taco Bell, Target,  Walgreens and Walmart have joined the effort.
