The Israeli company IDE Technologies, which operates a giant Sorek seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, has been named by the MIT Technology Review as one of the world’s 50 smartest companies for 2015, and on its list of ten breakthrough technologies. This prestigious list was headed by Tesla Motors.
Rounding out the top five were Xiaomi, Illumina, Alibaba, and Counsyl. Google (12th), Apple (16th), Facebook (29th), IBM (46th), and Microsoft (48th).
