From the listing:

Charles Gwathmey’s vision was to create the most sophisticated, stunning and elegant apartment in New York City. The level of custom finishes throughout will astound you, from the minute you enter through the stainless steel door onto the magnificent white stone floor where your eyes are drawn to the glass and stainless steel staircase with the hand sewn leather railing. A soaring double height living room with 24’ ceiling and two walls of windows looks out onto unbelievable North and West views. These views are indescribable and seem to go on forever.

The living room hardwood floors are quarter-sawn maple and open into the dining room. White Venetian plaster walls, maple floors, Anigre wood and stainless steel are the key materials used throughout. The spectacular chef’s kitchen has the most amazing state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances appropriate for a restaurant and cabinetry with counters of honed black absolute granite. There is ample counter space for a professional chef and the large dining area in the kitchen can easily accommodate numerous guests. The walls of glass afford views of many of New York City’s most iconic buildings and bridges. Adjacent to the kitchen/dining area there is a spacious media/entertaining room with incredible custom built-ins.

Additionally, on this level is a powder room, a reception room, a home office, a pantry and 2 staff rooms with a full bath. Continuing on to the upper level are the bedrooms. The master suite is unparalleled, again with dramatic views. This suite also encompasses an office, a sitting room and 2 full bathrooms outfitted with white statuary marble walls and sinks and black absolute granite floors. Two dressing rooms have generous storage with custom cabinetry of Anigre wood. Additionally on this level are 3 bedrooms with ensuite baths, a den, a laundry and mechanicals. This level also has elevator access. The apartment has the all latest in technology including central A/C and heating zones, Crestron system, security system, a backup generator for computers, touch pads in every room which manage lighting, temperature, electronic window shades and more.

This apartment is a rare combination of grand space, extraordinary light, dramatic views and perfection of design and execution. This memorable home has no equal. It is a unique New York City treasure.
