At least 64 people were murdered yesterday in coordinated terrorist attacks against Egyptian security checkpoints in the country’s Sinai Peninsula, one Egyptian newspaper reported. The attacks were carried out by an Egyptian branch of Islamic State, the country’s officials stated.

The Egyptian military responded by assaulting terrorist targets in its territory, killing 22 terrorists and destroying three vehicles, it stated.
