Famed multi-Grammy winning singer Mariah Carey bucked the boycott Israel movement and arrived in the country on Saturday for a private visit. Today she left Tel Aviv and headed for Jerusalem.
While visiting Israel’s capital, Carey stopped by the Kotel where she was photographed observing the custom of placing a note between the stones of the Western Wall, the holiest site to the Jewish people.

Carey is visiting the country with her two sons from ex-husband Nick Cannon, Monroe and Moroccan, and her billionaire boyfriend Australian James Packer. Packer is said to be close to Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu. The Australian even bought a home near Netanyahu’s in the Israeli seaside town of Casesaria.
Packer is a partner with Israeli-American businessman Arnon Milchan in Regency Enterprises which owns a controlling interest in Israel’s Channel 10 broadcast network.
Neither Carey nor Packer is Jewish, but they have stated that they feel very spiritual and came to Israel for religious counseling before they marry.
