The new tech-truck, which is simply called “Safety Truck, ” uses a wireless camera at the front of the truck that projects the images onto an OLED screen made from four exterior monitors on the back of the truck. That’s right. So, from now on, when you’re stuck behind a truck, instead of looking at the ten foot high back of its container you will be able to see whatever is in front of the truck instead.

Samsung led the prototype development by providing large format display samples, and conducted a test with a local B2B client. So far Samsung confirms that the technology works and that this idea can definitely save the lives of many people.

Samsung cited statistics from Argentina where traffic accidents are among the highest in the world, with most of these accidents occurring on two-lane roads and particularly in overtaking situations. In the States, statistics show that there is at least one fatality resulting from 98% of accidents involving a truck.
