“The Hateful Eight, ” the aptly titled eighth film from Oscar winning writer and director Quentin Tarantino, and produced by the Weinstein Co., will officially premiere on December 25th. It will then go into wide release on January 8th.
The film will be released in the more expensive, but also more artistic, 70 mm format.

“The Hateful Eight” is a post Civil War Western set in Wyoming. The plot follows a group of strangers, including bounty hunters and former soldiers, who get caught inside a hotel during a blizzard.

It stars Samuel Jackson and Kurt Russell. Fans of Tarantino’s earlier films will be happy to see the return of actors who appeared in many of his other films like Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and James Parks.
