Uber headquarters

Uber is planning a new state of the art headquarters to be located in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco, right near its current offices. It has been designed by the New York-based firm SHoP Architects and Studio O+A in San Francisco.

There will be two different buildings, one 11 stories high at 1455 Third St. and the other 6 stories high at 1515 Third, situated across the street from one another. They will be connected by several pedestrian bridges. It will have room for 3, 000 employees.

The 423, 000 square foot complex will be defined by glass. There will be glass everywhere allowing for people outside to see in. Talk about transparency.

Is this intended as a statement by Uber that it will engage in transparent business practices after all of the company’s problems with violent drivers and complaints from traditional taxi services?
