A social group called 72 Virgins hopes to bring Jews and Muslims together by offering them a chance to meet one another over cocktails.
The name is obviously meant to mock a certain group of extremists, especially considering the fact that devout Muslims are not allowed to consume alcohol.

Founded by Seth Cohen and Saba Mirza, the group states that it is bringing Jews and Muslims together to socialize over a drink. “We teach simple and effective techniques used to craft delicious non-alcoholic beverages. We do this together, creating unique experiences that spark friendships and conversation, ” it says.
“Our fresh ingredients, bar tools, and mocktails are our 72 Virgins.”
The people meet on Mondays at the Silver Lake Jewish Community Center in Los Angeles.
“For too long, ’72 virgins’ has been a phrase that has yielded a lot of power. We’re reclaiming that power by unpacking stereotypes & learning different techniques on how to make mocktail drinks that we can all enjoy.” Aziza Hasan, Executive Director • NewGround A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change.
