Actress Natalie Portman will play Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a biopic titled “On the Basis of Sex”. The film will go into production by the end of 2015.
The script was written by Daniel Stiepleman. Robert Cort is producing with Ram Bergman exec producing.
Justice Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993, at the age of 60, by then President Bill Clinton. She was only the second woman Supreme Court Justice and the first Jewish woman on the Supreme Court. Before her apointment, Ginsburg was a keen advocate for the advancement of women’s rights. Time magazine labeled her an “Icon” in its 2015 Time 100.

The biopic will focus on Ginburg’s career before she was appointed to the Supreme Court and will include several cases that she argued before that body on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union.
