Charles will play “a self-made businessman working in the scent industry. In an attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market an aphrodisiac to the general public, Dan seeks out Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson’s (Lizzy Caplan) expertise on desire. A charismatic salesman, Dan’s involvement with Masters and Johnson becomes complicated.”

Masters of Sex is an original television drama which also stars British actor Michael Sheen from the Oscar winning movie The Queen. It tells the true story of Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson who conducted sexual research in America in the 1950s. It is based on Thomas Maier’s biography Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love.
The show’s first two seasons were critically acclaimed, but the subject of controversy due to its graphic sexual content. Pay cable channels in America like Showtime are not censored.
The show’s thrid season will jump ahead to 1966.
