Isaac Mizrahi: Amal Clooney is No Fashion Icon

“She looks great all the time, but it always looks kind of, what’s the word? Tactful.”

Isaac Mizrahi and Arnold Germer

Famed fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi does not think that George Clooney’s wife, Amal, will ever be a fashion icon. Yes she is very attractive, he admits, but that is all.

Mizrahi told Threads Magazine when asked about Mrs. Clooney, “Who? No, I don’t think so. Absolutely not. Good-looking, but that’s where it ends.”

“She looks great all the time, but it always looks kind of, what’s the word? Tactful. She looks really tactful to me. And extremely beautiful. But I don’t think of her as a fashion icon. But that’s probably better — who really wants to do that?”

So it seems that Amal Clooney will have to make do continuing to work as a lawyer for such small and insignificant organizations like the U.N.

Now, while Amal Ramzi Clooney has certainly proven herself as a professional in her own right, most people only know who she is because of her husband. So it is not clear why she should suddenly be considered a fashion icon anyway.
