Apparently the billionaire investor Mikhail Khodorkovsky is not actually involved in the East Point Shopping and Entertainment Center in Tiblisi, Georgia. This in spite of a report from earlier this week in the Georgian publication Agenda.
Quadrum Global, the company behind the development, has released a statement denying that Khodorkovsky has any financial interest in their firm.
“Mikhail Khodorkovsky does not own part of Quadrum Global. He is not a shareholder in the company. He also has nothing to do whatsoever with Quadrum’s projects in Georgia” said the company.
“Quadrum Global is an independent private equity investment and advisory group owned by its founder Oleg Pavlov. Its investor base includes a mixture of international institutional, family office and high net worth investors, ” it added in a statement.
The EastPoint Shopping & Entertainment Center is located on an 18 hectare landsite between the center of the city and Tbilisi international airport. This 650, 000 square foot retail mall will become the first integrated lifestyle shopping and entertainment destination in the Republic of Georgia and will include several big box anchors, a retail village comprised of over 200 shops alongside a 180, 000 square foot leisure and entertainment offering.
“The firm principally targets real estate opportunities in the US and the UK, but is also developing projects in several emerging markets including Georgia. Since 2005 the firm has committed over $1 billion of capital to real estate assets and has grown its total portfolio to $2 billion, ” said Quadrum.
