The London Sunday Times is citing friends of former NY Mayor Bloomberg, 73, who have revealed that he is “considering” running in 2016 as a Tory candidate to succeed current mayor Boris Johnson.
Incidentally, Mayor Boris was born in NY City.

Last year, Bloomberg received an honorary knighthood by the Queen for his “prodigious entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors” in the UK. So he’s already kind of an insider.
Last week, the Sunday Times reported, the idea received support from Steve Hilton, former head of strategy at No 10 and one of PM Cameron’s most trusted advisers.
Naturally, even as a knight, Bloomberg would have to become a British citizen before he can go running for mayor. But his ex-wife and two daughters are British citizens, the Bloomberg empire is well invested in the UK, he owns he personally owns a $30 million mansion in town, so, basically, all he has to do is ask.
London will vote for a new mayor in 2016.
