Katzenberg ski home

Not only is DreamWorks Animation suffering from financial woes these days but apparently so is its head Jeffrey Katzenberg. The Hollywood titan has been forced to drop the price on his Park City, Utah `ski retreat from $20.5 million to $15.5 million.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Katzenberg is selling the home because he and his wife rarely use it.

On the market since the summer of 2012, the home has 14, 100 square feet of space. It has 7 bedrooms and 10 full baths. Situated on 1.57 acres of land the gated mansion was built in 1992 and designed by top Park City architect Rick Otto.

The mansion boasts an indoor swimming pool – convenient for a winter getaway – a spa, a billiards room, a sauna, a fireplace in the formal dining room, multiple living areas and a caretaker’s quarters.

The listing by Paul Benson of Engel and Volkers real estate reads:

“This is your true Ski Home, sitting at the top of Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Village area in the very private gated Bald Eagle Club. Enjoy views for many miles down the valley, across the ski resorts and to the city lights. The 14, 0000 square foot home was designed by top Park City architect Rick Otto, as well as world-class architect Charles Gwathmey.”

“The interior decorations and art were designed by Naomi Leff, who has designed some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and producers homes, as well as Ralph Lauren’s Double RL Ranch. Entertaining is easy with a billiard room, game room, multiple living areas, resort like ski room, indoor pool and spa and sauna and caretakers quarters. A rare combination of extreme security, privacy and ski-in/ski-out right into your own ski lounge. Quick and easy 5-minute drive down to Park City’s Historic Main Street for unique boutique shopping and exceptional dining. Convenient 30-minute drive to Salt Lake City’s International Airport.”
