Police on Two Coasts Building Up the Case Against Robert Durst

Police say Durst’s wife tried to help him escape to Cuba before his arrest in New Orleans.

Last Sunday New York State police have seized documents belonging to millionaire Robert Durst from a friend’s house in Orange County, ABC New reported.

Police removed some 60 boxes containing documents pertinent to the case the home of a friend of Durst’s in the Hudson Valley community of Campbell Hall.

The material includes bills, photographs and transcripts of Durst’s murder trial in Texas.

Durst, 71, was arrested last week on murder charges for the shooting of Susan Berman in 2000.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles DA is working with the FBI to force Durst’s wife, Debrah Lee Charatan, 58, to testify against her husband, or face criminal charges

Police say Charatan tried to help Durst escape to Cuba before his arrest in New Orleans.
