“The studio is currently reviewing its creative organization.”

Adam Goodman

Adam Goodman is on his way out as the head of Paramount Films. His departure is part of what is being described as a major shake up at the studios.

As one source told The Wrap, “The studio is currently reviewing its creative organization.”

Having been with Paramount since 2008, Goodman was given credit with such successes as the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot, “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” and the “Paranormal Activity” movies.

With even more hits so far this year and a year left on his contract the real question is why is Goodman being dumped. Apparently Paramount’s chairman and CEO Brad Grey is unhappy with what he feels are runaway costs of production on movies. While their films make a ton of money, they could make even more if their producers were held more accountable for sticking to their budgets. Failure to do so has been put squarely on Goodman’s shoulders.
