Marvel CEO Isaac Perlmutter and his wife Laura continue their prodigious philanthropic efforts towards finding a cure for cancer with a $9 million donation to the NYU Langone Medical Center and the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, according to Palm Beach Daily News.
A third of the donation will be used to finance six joint research projects and the remaining sum will be donated to create a research facility on the Technion campus. The focus of the research will be on the metabolomics of cancer, or the relationship between cancer and metabolism and the ways understanding this can make it easier to detect and treat the disease.

Laura Perlmutter wrote in a release, “We are confident that this collaborative effort, which avoids duplication of research initiatives and creates efficiencies among marquee donors and researchers, will lead to dramatic results in the fight against this terrible disease.”
In January of 2014, the couple donated $50 million to the NYU Cancer institute, which was renamed to the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center.
Mrs. Laura Perlmutter has been a member of the NYU Langone community for more than 30 years, initially as a volunteer in the hospital’s gift shop, later rising to become president of the Tisch Hospital Auxiliary, a position she held for seven years, from 1985 to 1992, as well as sitting on the board of trustees for NYU Langone from the same year. Laura Perlmutter has sat on the Cancer Advisory Board since 2005.
Isaac Perlmutter was also recently seconded on to the board of trustees for the NYU Langone Cancer Center.
