A new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie is set to be released in 2016.
If at first you don’t succeed try again. That must be what Haim Saban, the Israeli born billionaire behind the Power Rangers, is thinking. The first try at making a movie out of the popular kids show failed miserably twenty years ago. But 1995’s “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” did not have any real movie stars in it.

The new movie will be made in cooperation between Haim Saban’s company and Lionsgate. Saban was quoted last year as saying, “Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from ‘The Hunger Games’ to ‘Twilight’ and ‘Divergent.’ In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we’re confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy of its own.”
