Material Design is a design language developed by Google, announced last June. Expanding on the “card” motifs of Google Now, it is a design with increased use of grid-based layouts, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth effects like lighting and shadows.

The iOS version of Google Play includes all the features Google put in its Android version.

Google also says the latest update adds some visual improvements and enhances performance, and who doesn’t want that.

Google Play Music for iOS is available as a free download from iTunes.

Now Apple says it is working on its own competing music service.
