Tumblr founder David Karp and girlfriend Rachel Eakley, a pair of techie sweethearts who not long ago, purchased a $1.6 million swanky loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn together, apparently have called it quits, and Eakley is posting about it on her ex’s brainchild, Tumblr.
To be fair, Eakley did say she likes to keep the discussion mainly to topics like “school’s hard, tv’s awesome and look at this food!” and has aimed to “be purposefully quiet on this matter (i.e. the breakup), ” but she was responding to a users whose comments about her personal life she didn’t see fit to edit, if she really intended to be absolutely discreet about the state of her relationship.

According to the New York Post, a user wrote to Eakley, “You built a house together, and probably got left with nothing because you weren’t married … Maybe it’s better to hear someone agree that it sucks instead of someone telling you that time heals all wounds blah blah blah?”
“It’s sweet of you to worry about me, ” said Eakley and added, “I think it is the best thing about Tumblr.”
The couple were dating since 2011, David Karp founded Tumblr in 2007, and warded off all suitors until he sold it for $1.1 billion in 2013 to Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer. Well, as they say, money changes everything.
