Users around the globe are unable to access Facebook and Instagram, on the Web and on their mobile apps.
It’s not clear what’s causing the intyerruption of service, which started around 1:10 AM ET. Facebook’s mobile messaging service WhatsApp is still running.
A reminder: Last year, the Iranian censor banned the use of WhatsApp because it is owned by an “American Zionist.” So now they’ll suffer. Or go to work, probably.
The Facebook page tells visitors: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”
