Directed by Guillermo Amoedo, “The Stranger” tells the story of a mysterious man who goes to a small Canadian town looking for his wife. As with all of Roth’s movies there is a lot of blood and gore and people get killed.
Roth said in a statement, “I’m incredibly proud of my ‘Knock Knock’ / ‘Green Inferno’ / ‘Aftershock’ co-writer Guillermo Amoedo’s directing debut. Guillermo made a very beautiful, haunting, and creepy film that was stunningly photographed in Chile. It’s a gem of a movie, one that needs special handling, and we could not be in better hands than IFC Midnight. They’ve been releasing incredibly smart, well done unique genre movies and we’re proud to be part of their label. I think the film will really surprise people, with superb performances across the board, especially from newcomer Nicolas Duran, who I believe could get real critical recognition from his breakthrough performance.”
“Clown” is about a loving father who puts on an old clown suit for his son’s birthday party. Unfortunately it turns out that the suit is cursed and turns him into a murdering monster. It is filled with blood and gore and a lot of people getting killed.
“South of Hell” is a new television series which Roth is producing for WE television and is currently filming in South Carolina.
From the producers: “Charleston, South Carolina is the most possessed city in the world. Evil thrives there. Something with which 30-year-old exorcist Maria Abascal is intimately acquainted. She wrestles demons for a living. Especially Abigail, the one that lives within her. The one who feeds on damned souls and who’s violated the laws of hell to live on earth—and live on, inside Maria. Now, as they work as one, Maria will discover how personal her battle with evil has become and how far Abigail will go to protect them both. It’s a journey where the unspeakable is just a heartbeat away.”
