Created by Daniel J. Goor and Michael Schur, the show also stars Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero. It is about a nutty an immature NY police detective in Brooklyn named Jake Peralta (Samberg) who serves in the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. He drives his boss crazy but gets the job done.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is up 17% in the ratings in the most important demographic this year – adults 18-49 – with a 2.7 rating. But it is still clearly the weakest of the three shows to be renewed by Fox.
A major consideration when deciding whether or not to renew a television show is money. A show with lower ratings may be renewed while one with better ratings is cancelled because the former is cheaper to produce or is more popular internationally and so it brings in more money from worldwide syndication.
