William Shatner Will Ride Futurist Steampunk Motorcycle Across the Land

Shatner Steampunk Motorcycle

It all started when someone asked legendary Star Trek star William Shatner for an autograph. The person happened to be from the Chicago company American Wrench, and while the Canadian actor was signing, knowing of Shatner’s affection for motorcycles, he suggested Shatner have one custom made. So what else for Captain Kirk but a state-of-the art futuristic motorbike that will boldly go where no man has gone before (well, plenty of people have traveled from Chicago to L.A, but not yet like this)?

William Shatner plans to cross the country in his futuristic steampunk motorcycle with three wheels. He formed his own company, Rivet motors, in the production of the vehicle. “This is the cycle of the future, ” said Shatner, and he describes it as a “land jet. It is designed from the ground up as a 3 wheeled vehicle, with its exposed cockpit and command center, seating fit only for a captain and the harmonious roar of its brute V8, piloting Rivet gives you a feeling of flying on the open road, ” as reported by Breitbart.

Shatner pushed his design team, asked for a canopy and the ability to seat two. He discussed his cross country trip, which, is likely to be documented, “I’ve been across this country on my thumb (???…oh, hitchiking), in sports cars, in trucks, with a dog, with a family, but I’ve never been across the country in a motorcycle. I want to do that, and I’m going to do that in this new rivet motorcycle. Why don’t you come along with me.”
