Alan Dershowitz is hopping mad about accusations of being one of a number of prominent people to have sexually abused a woman known only as Jan Doe #3 in a scandal revolving around Britain’s prince Andrew. Now he is threatening a lawsuit and has said that the allegations have served to help people who are going after him for his support of Israel.
The famed civil liberties attorney and former Harvard law professor was named as one of the many “friends” of Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire who was convicted of molesting underage girls, who took part in the sexual abuse of Jane Doe #3.

Dershowitz told the BBC, “My goal is to bring charges against the client and requie her to speak in court. If she believes she has been hurt by me and Prince Andrew, she should be suing us for damages. I welcome that lawsuit. I welcome any opportunity that would put her under oath and require her to state under oath these false allegations.”
“You cannot allow these false allegations simply to remain out there, and you cannot allow people who make false allegations to have the freedom to continue to make them.”
What really irks him is the fact that these claims were only made in passing in legal documents involved in a lawsuit against someone else. As a result, he has not been formally accused of anything and so has no way of directly defending himself. Dershowitz described this situation as Kafkaesque.
Mr. Dershowitz has also said that these charges have given ammunition to both anti-Semites and Israel bashers around the world. He says that he has received countless emails from such people, including ones that accused Jews of being behind the sex trades.
He sees this as not just an attack on himself but also an attack on what he stands for saying, “I’m not only defending myself here, but I am defending other values as well. I am defending the values that I have represented and stood for, for so many years.”
Dershowitz once represented Jeffrey Epstein and says that he had not been in contact with the disgraced billionaire for some time before these allegations were made. He also called on Prince Andrew to take legal action against the accuser.
