Our long wait is finally over as the title of the upcoming Rambo sequel has been revealed. It will be called Rambo: Last Blood. This will be the fifth and hopefully final installment of Sylvester Stallone’s (his mother was Jewish) Rambo series.
Who has not been holding his breath, waiting for yet another John Rambo movie since the last installment in the series, simply titled Rambo, came out eight years ago.

Stallone himself let the cat out of the bag with the following tweet, “Doing Scarpa based on Gangster Greg Scarpa after LAST BLOOD RAMBO…”
Somehow Stallone has managed to keep this character alive. Rambo was originally just a story about how a Vietnam vet, who served in special forces as a trained killer, just could not adjust to civilian life after the war.
It made sense in the 80s when the Vietnam Way was still deep in the American conscious as people felt guilty over how Vietnam vets like Rambo were treated. At the height of president Raegan’s popularity the film Rambo: First Blood – the first sequel – left audiences itching for America to invade Vietnam. The Russians were, of course, the ultimate bad guys in the movie.
Back in June the German movie company Splendid Films released a statement confirming that the film was already under production saying, “With Rambo V, Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone… describes the new Rambo as his version of No Country for Old Men.”
Rambo: Last Blood is due out sometime this year.
