Hip-hop artist Sean “Diddy” Combs and Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich are planning rival New Year’s Eve parties on the ritzy island of St. Barts in the Caribbean, the New York Post said.
Sources said that Abramovich and his girlfriend, Dasha Zhukova — who took last year off from throwing their annual St. Barts bash, opting to celebrate instead in Moscow — are back planning another of their spectacular soirees, which are famed for their A-list guests and surprise performances, which in the past have included shows by bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Post said.

Abramovich, a businessman and art collector, may have recently lost $450 million in about 48 hours due to to the major economic turmoil in Russia, but it’s clear that his recent financial losses won’t affect the party budget, artnet News said.
Abramovich may be teaming up with art-world guru Larry Gagosian on the event, according to the Post report.
Meanwhile, Combs, who is holidaying in St. Barts on a mega-yacht with his kids, is also planning a big party, either on his yacht or at a private mansion, the Post said. The newspaper’s sources said that the guests expected to fly in for the fête include Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
