David Beckham To Be the Spice Guy of Sportswear with New Brand

David and Victoria Beckham

Retired football sensation David Beckham is taking after his wife Victoria and is starting his new fashion brand, according to the Telegraph. The brand is going to center around, what else? David Beckham…and sportswear. Beckham’s business partner Simon Fuller, who brought the world the Spice Girls (okay, we forgive him) announced a joint venture with Global Brands of Hong Kong.

The brand will combine David Beckham’s image as a super cool, really big sports guy and Fullers expertise in the ins and outs of entertainment, what people want, convincing people they want something they really, really might not want (as he did with the Spice Girls).

Global Brands has a portfolio of 350 names, many recognizable, such as Calvin Klein, Jennifer Lopez and Pull My Finger (sorry, Tommy Hilfiger).

David Beckham has toyed around with design before with bodywear for H&M and apparel for Adidas. But this time, it is going to be all about him, and he is probably going to like it. Will Victoria get jealous?
