A new Pro Continental bicycle racing team with its headquarters in Israels has been launched and it plans to compete in January at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina. Peter Sagan set up the team, which has riders from Israel, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, according to Cycling Weekly.

The launch took place in Jerusalem and was attended by mayor Nir Barkat and president of the Cycling Academy Ron Baron. Professional road racer, Ran Margaliot will manage the team, along with Dror Pekatch, former professional mountain bike racer and Jan Valach, former coach of the Slovakian national team.
Baron says the team will do a total of 90 days of racing next year, and hopes to see it participate in the Tour de France. Ron Baron said Peter Sagan, “will be an inspiration for young cyclists from Israel … a few years from now, the team will race at the world’s highest levels.”
