Redskins’ Dan Snyder First on Rolling Stone’s 15 Worst Owners

On Tuesday, Rolling Stone Magazine published an end-of-year bloodbath, assembled by Guardian’s columnist Jeb Lund, and titled “The 15 Worst Owners in Sports.” To qualify, you had to be an SOB who owns a franchise in the NFL, NHL, MLB or NBA.

“Frackers, fuckers, racists and robbers – you don’t need to be a bad person to own a pro franchise, but it certainly helps, ” goes Lund’s sub-headline.

And our brother Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, beat out Miami Marlins’ owner Jeffrey Loria, James Dolan of the NY Knicks, and Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, in second, third and fourth.

It’s nice to know that a Jew can excel at something, in this case, just being an asshole, I suppose.

Here are some choice pearls from Lund’s diatribe, it starts with the Indian insensitivity thing, which I suppose you have to be Native American to really get—although Lund has nothing bad to say about Cleveland Indians’ owner Larry Dolan, who’s been holding on with the same ferocity to his team’s cap insignia (Brits, what do they know):

If you’ve been paying attention to football this last year, you probably know Snyder as the staunch defender of an unambiguously racist name who can’t stop putting a loafer in his mouth every time he opens it. Snyder has marshaled every resource of the rich white asshole invoking tradition to defend the indefensible.

Then there’s this:

You could go on for pages about the paranoid, Hitler-in-the-bunker mentality of the team … And you could go on for pages and pages and pages of what a clusterfuck of tire fires the Redskins have become under Snyder’s tenure …

In a 383-word diatribe, Lund repeats the word Fuck a full 8 times, which beats even the South Park record. Should we start rating our news media according to the Fuck system?
