Monica Lewinsky Won’t Change her Name

The Masterpiece Marie Curie Party Supported By Jaeger-LeCoultre And Hosted By Heather Kerzner

Monica Lewinsky is definitely not going to change her name. This according to an interview that she gave Porter Magazine in its new issue due out on Friday. Excerpts from the interview were released to The New York Post.

As the world’s most notorious former intern explained it, “No one else in the investigation had to change their name. Why should I? I use aliases at times to protect my privacy, but I’m not ashamed of who I am.”

Perhaps no one has told her yet that for a while after her affair with President Clinton was revealed the name Lewinsky became synonymous with fellatio. In an episode of Law and Order SVU from the season after the Clinton impeachment Christopher Meloni famously said the words “she Lewinskied him” in reference to the oral sex act.

Rather than wondering why the 41 year old will not change her name people are probably wondering why she is still giving interviews. Why exactly should anyone care today about a woman who is only famous for having had an affair with a president more than 15 years ago?

As she told Porter, “Now when I fill out a form I have to think, “Will somebody go to the press with my private information?” Why would they?

The only time her name comes up in the news is when she herself gives interviews. Lewinsky clearly wants to remain in the spot light.

She also posed for a fashion photo shoot by photographer Bjorn Iooss. One picture shows Lewinsky in a long sky blue skirt with a slit down the left side while posing on a Manhattan rooftop. She also wears a white blouse with a long white scarf that blows backward in the wind.

If Lewinsky is so concerned about restoring her anonymity then one should ask her why she keeps posing for pictures like that.
