Perfect for the Holidays: Raiders of the Lost Ark Face Melting Candle

Lost Ark inspired Major Toht face melting candle

Who knows why it took until 2014 for something like this to be created, but it’s finally here; the Raiders of the Lost Ark inspired Major Toht face melting candle. Steven Spielberg’s Raiders of the Lost Ark had one of the dramatic if nauseating conclusions to a blockbuster. When the bad guys open the Ark of Covenant, their faces melt off. CinemaBlend reports that the candle inspired by this scene has a laughing Major Toht whose face indeed does melt, although it doesn’t reveal a layer of blood beneath the skin or the skeleton. However once it is lit, the face melts, although not in as gory a way as depicted in the famous scene.

A U.K company, Firebox created that candle, which costs 20 pounds or about $30. While that may sound like a lot of money, it is hard to think of something more unique or delightfully inappropriate for the holidays.
