Discovery Brings Back Roseanne Barr Mother of All Meltdowns

The Paley Center For Media Announces Judd Apatow As Recipient Of 2014 Paleyfest Icon Award

Roseanne Barr will revive her role in mom-oriented comedy, the kind that would cause June Cleaver to break out in hives, as reported by UPI. Roseanne was loved and roundly criticized for her less-than-ideal portrait of a sarcastic, wise cracking low maintenance mom on the 90s sitcom that carried her name.

Her new television project: Momsters: When Moms Go Bad shows the impulsive excesses mothers will go through to promote their offspring. One mother of a little leaguer tirelessly stalks her kid’s coach, and the mother of the beauty pageant princess employs various Machiavellian schemes to ensure her daughter brings home the crown. The show will premiere on November 28.

Henry Schleiff, group president of Investigation Discovery, commented, “These momsters find themselves knee deep in schemes so sordid and unexpected, the only way out is to keep going. You will laugh at the inherent humor of these situations just as often as you gasp in shock at their crimes. Roseanne acts as the mother of all meltdowns with her uniquely sarcastic tone while telling stories that will give Mommy Dearest a run for her money.”
