Big Green Donor Nat Simons Commutes on Gas Guzzling Yacht: Report

Nat Simons yacht lg

Nat Simons, a major contributor to the Democratic Party and environmental causes, commutes to work on a gas guzzling yacht. While donating substantial sums to groups like the Sierra Club raising awareness about greenhouse gases and global climate change, Simons leaves his home in Berkeley, California on the 1, 500 horsepower yacht and sails past Alcatraz and Treasure Island before reaching his destination at the Port of San Francisco, walking distance from the offices of Meritage Group, his hedge fund, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

Simons has donated over $300, 000 to political campaigns and interest groups in 2014. However, through Sea Change, run by Simons and his wife, it is estimated they have donated as much as $134 million to various left-wing causes, many of them associated with environmentalism. Simons has a net worth of $12.5 billion, and it seems that someone who donates as much as he does to green causes would find a more environmentally friendly way to get to work.
