Haim Saban, Chris Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Jeremy Zag are planning to produce one 3D and one CGI-live action picture a year beginning 2017, Variety reported.
Their first release will be Melody, co-directed by Columbus and Zag in full CGI.

Ghostforce, a hybrid of live action and CGI, and the full-CGI Abominable are also coming in the next few years, competing with DreamWorks Animation, Disney Animation and Disney’s Pixar.
Deadline Hollywood noted that major studios like Warner Bros have also joined the animation industry, not always with great results.

Earlier this year, Saban, head of the Saban Capital Group and Saban Brands, launched Saban Films.
