Clive Davis Brings Back Aretha Franklin

Well, it is doubtless that many of today’s hey nineteens have heard of Aretha Franklin, or at least they will become more familiar with her with her new, Clive Davis produced album “Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics.”

This is the first time Aretha Franklin has worked with Davis in more than a decade. Clive Davis, who has one 5 Grammys and was inducted into the Rock n’Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer. He has been giving career makeovers to the Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart and others, and Aretha Franklin’s newest project is just the album says it is; Franklin covering songs made famous by classic divas such as Barbara Streisand, Gladys Knight, Sinead O’Connor, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and others. Even before the album has hit the stores, Franklin’s version of “Rollin’ in the Deep” has already hit #47 on the R&B/Hip Hop Chart, the 100th song Franklin has had on the chart.
