Primus Green Energy

Primus Green Energy, Inc., an alternative fuel company that converts natural gas and other feedstocks directly into high quality transportation fuels and solvents, today announced that Sam Golan, Primus’ chief operating officer, has been promoted to acting chief executive officer.

Most recently, Golan has guided Primus’ business and technical strategy as chief operating officer, joining in 2009. He succeeds Robert J. Johnsen, former Primus chief executive officer, following Johnsen’s transformation of Primus from a technology developer to a company with a commercial product.

“Since joining the company not long after its founding, Sam has played an integral role in the development of our proprietary STG+ technology, ” said Dr. Yom-Tov Samia, president and chairman of Primus Green Energy. “Sam will leverage his deep understanding of our technology and company to build on the enormous momentum behind STG+ and fast-track its market adoption.”

Golan is an accomplished technology executive, having led multinational engineering, project management and manufacturing software companies from the entrepreneurial stage to an established market presence. Prior to joining Primus, he served as the general manager of Cimatron Israel and Cimatron Technologies in North America, a leading developer of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry. He also co-founded Smart Team, a PLM company acquired by Dassault Systems S.A.

“Primus has brought its innovative gas-to-liquids technology, STG+, from bench scale to commercial scale in fewer than five years, ” said Sam Golan, acting chief executive officer of Primus Green Energy. “We’re now ready for our next phase of growth – commercial projects serving key market opportunities in small-scale GTL and flare gas applications. I thank Robert Johnsen for his contributions and I look forward to working with the entire Primus team to realize this growth.”
