Wisconsin Badgers Martin and Weiss Make USA National Swimming Team

Martin Weiss

Wisconsin Badger swimmers Ivy Martin and Michael Weiss made it to the national team. This is Martin’s second year and Weiss’ third qualifying for the nation’s top swimming team. Coach Whitney Hite, not surprisingly, described the two as a “coach’s dream.” Martin is the second fastest female in the 50 meter freestyle race at 24 seconds and is ranked 12th in the world for the event. She is entering her senior year at the University of Wisconsin. She earned Big Ten and All American status in multiple events.

Weiss, who recently graduated, clocked in at 4:14 for the 400 meter IM, the third fastest in the U.S. and 17th in the world.
