English soccer club Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody was forced to resign Thursday morning, following some embarrassing revelations of his offensive text and email exchanges with Scottish soccer manager
Malcolm George “Malky” Mackay, the British press is reporting.
Moody simply had to go, once those messages were leaked. They were racist, homophobic, antisemitic and sexist, and showed the two execs’ contempt for their former boss, Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan, black players, a Jewish soccer agent named Phil Smith, another female agent, and a couple of gay players and staff members.

That’s a lot of slurs for just two guys.
One of the messages, referring to Smith, said: “Go on, fat Phil. Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers.”
A Palace insider told the Standard: “Iain offered to go because he wanted to protect the club and felt it was the right and proper thing to do.”
You can just feel the nobility oozing from him, can’t you?
Smith told the Standard: “I’m not skinny and I can deal with the ‘fat’ thing but in today’s day and age with all that is going on in the world, the ‘Jew’ aspect is unacceptable. At this stage, I’m still unsure as to who said it.
“If it was Iain, he knows me relatively well enough for if had been on the telephone, I might have understood it in context.
“If it was Malky, it is more personal than I would have expected from somebody who does know me as well and is talking about me behind my back. I’d be happy to speak to him so he can say it to my face.”
