Try Googling details about Google’s Elite conference in Sicily. Sure, you can get a general overview from several prominent websites, but the agenda and what exactly will go on there remains out of the prying eyes of even Google’s search engine. Details about what the New York Times calls the “Davos of the summer” will remain offline.

Unlike the annual World Economic Conference in Davos, it seems to lack a strong geopolitical theme, given that political leaders are notably absent from the guest list. Instead, Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs will be speaking on the future of Europe, and other guests include: Anshu Jain of Deutsche Bank, Ana Patricia Botin of Banco Santander, Ben Horowitz, c0-founder of Andreessen Horowitz, John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Travis Kalanick, CEO of Uber, Elon Musk CEO of Tesla, Even Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat, fashion designer Tory Burch, actress Eva Longoria, Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts and Arianna Huffington, who confessed on Twitter she left her passport at the hotel, but made it anyway.
For all we know, this could be a radical plot to gather great entrepreneurial minds on a resort together in a scenario like Agatha Christie’s murder mystery classic And Then There Were None, but most likely, it is something a bit more salubrious and less macabre. What this “Davos of summer” has in common with that scenario is that it is wrapped in mystery, but here are a few things we can gather about it: it is going to be located in the Verdura Golf & Spa resort (how are they going to keep the paparazzi away?), the mood is going to be more relaxed than Davos and families are encouraged to attend (their families, not ours).
