Home Video Studio in Apex, NC won “Best Documentary” at the 2014 Hanley Awards, for a short film on Apex’s historic train depot

They approached Stephen Xavier, Executive Director of the Apex Chamber of Commerce, with the proposal to produce a documentary to mark the event. The resulting video includes photos and illustrations from local artists, interviews with citizens who personally experienced the history of the building and lively stories of how what one sees today came to be. The 17-minute video was just named the Best Documentary Hanley Award in Orlando, Florida. The Hanley Awards, Home Video Studios version of the Oscars, recognize achievement in the video industry. The 14th Annual Hanley Awards, a black-tie awards gala, was held at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida. The Home Video Studio franchise is comprised of more than 60 studios located world-wide. The Hanleys; named after Robert Hanley, the founder and CEO of Home Video Studio; are in recognition of a studio owners work during the past year. This year the awards field was narrowed down to 15 categories as compared to 33 in previous years. That meant tighter competition and more excitement. In addition to the video excellence award, Home Video Studio-Apex was honored with the Best Studio Store of the Year.
