The Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week is showcasing more than 50 runway shows, presentations and special events throughout the city, extolling the spring & summer 2015 collections.
During the biannual fashion event, hosted by Mercedes-Benz, approximately 200, 000 fashion enthusiasts, buyers and trade experts collected information at fashion trade shows and attended exhibitions and off-site events.
So far, it has been packed with celebrities in the front rows, including, but not only, at the Marc Cain and the Laurèl shows.
Among the guests you could spot gorgeous model Bar Refaeli and her equally attractive brother, Dor (Grrrr…).
Marc Cain presented a collection at the Erika Hess Ice Stadium, with a circus theme, and drew in an international crowd, including former WAG and model Sylvie Meis, Hilary Swank, Marcia Cross (who had made the journey especially for the Marc Cain show), Motsi Mabuse, Franziska Knuppe, and Nina Eichinger.
Marc Cain’s collection is a distinct return to pastel tones, with stripes, polka dots, flowers and animal prints.
Marc Cain founder and chairman Helmut Schlotterer says the label manages to reinvent itself every season and is looking forward to strong sales.
Possibly.
Laurèl, meanwhile, started its show with airline announcements for “Laurèl Airways flight LL 1978 to Berlin, ” and “On behalf of the Laurèl crew, we wish you a very pleasant flight to our Bohemian Summer Islands. Thank you for choosing Laurèl Airways. Bon voyage!”
Interesting.
The “dream destination” theme was all about Caribbean brightness. Laurèl showed plant prints, frills and flowing pants, for its notion of a summer holiday: yellow, green and blue were the main colors, with only a few in fiery red and black.
The term “Bohemian” really did fit, but the spring–summer 2015 wearer could also be described as independent and confident.
Which you have to be, if you’re Bohemian.
Swiss Design Award winner Julian Zigerli opened the fashion week with his namesake label bold, applying fresh colors and a a unique visual character in men’s clothing.
Ivan Mandzukic, a German designer of high end menswear, presented his brand Ivanman, in mostly bright blue and ivory white.
Austrian designer Lena Hoschek continued using retro color at this fashion week, but also added some African tropics character and style to her Spring/Summer collection.
Austrian designer Rebekka Ruetz, on the other hand, showed her new collection in an urban chic and concise style, using flowing and soft materials.
First-row star guests hanging on every new look included top model Bar Refaeli and brother Dor, Hollywood tattoo king Scott Campbell, Nikolai Kinski with Ina Paule Klink, Franziska Knuppe, Heino and Marie Jeanette Ferch, Barbara Becker and Noah Becker, Jana Pallaske, Wolke Hegenbarth, Vicky Krieps, Pegah Ferydoni, Dominic Raacke with Alexandra Rohleder, Fritzi Haberlandt, Jette Joop, Viktoria Lauterbach, Judith Milberg, Giovanni Zarella, Mirja DuMont, Minu Barati-Fischer, Mariella Ahrens with daughterIsabella, Martin Krug with Julia Trainer, Jennifer Ulrich, Maria Ehrich, Aino Laberenz and director Bora Dagtekin.
