With the 20th anniversary of the first episode of the hit TV sitcom “Friends” as well as the 10th of the last episode both falling this year, speculation was rife among the gossip columns, that a special reunion version was on the cards.
However, joint producers Marta Kauffman and David Crane have dashed the hopes of millions of Friends fans throughout the world by stating unequivocally, that there is no possibility that Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the six main characters will be getting together for one last time.
In a recent statement Ms. Kauffman confirmed what everyone had feared that there were no plans to do an update on the series, and certainly not a spinoff as had been suggested on several occasions in the media over the years, such as “ Grown-Up Friends or Friends Kids or Baby Friends.”
“We always knew and felt very strongly that not only would it never happen, but also that we never wanted to be part of it because it so rarely works. We just felt like this show is about a certain time in your life, and once you’re past that, the show is over, ” explained Martha in a recent interview.
