Three-time Oscar winning director, Oliver Stone is reported to be looking for buyers for his 1, 750-square-foot, two bedroom, 2½ bath apartment which he owns on Morton Square in the West Village in Manhattan.
Stone picked up the apartment in February 2010 for $2.2 million and is now looking to a profit of $800, 000 for the luxury but compact complex which he uses when he is in New York.
Among the outstanding features of the apartment are its eleven foot ceilings, medium brown hardwood floors running through the apartment and outstanding views of the Hudson River. According to those in the know Stone should have no difficulty in selling on the property, one of 280 units that make up their complex on One Morton Place. Not only is the building blessed with a number of facilities including round-the-clock doorman and concierge services, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an on-site attended parking garage.

Built only around 10 years ago, the property on One Morton Square could certainly be described as modest for a film director of Oliver Stone’s status with reports filtering through that once the apartment has been sold, or possible beforehand, Stone will be looking for something considerably larger, at least over 2, 000 square feet.
Oliver Stone’s principal residence situated in the West coast, in the semi-rustic Mandeville Canyon area of Los Angeles in California reflects more of what the director’s taste in property, covering more than 6, 500 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Oliver Stone is known for the controversial slants that he put in his movies, with some of his works during the late 80s dealing with the trauma that soldiers were forced to go through during the Vietnam War, in which he also served.
Stone has been the recipient of three Academy Awards for his films Midnight Express, Platoon, and Born on the Fourth of July.
